Oral cavity, tongue, border, right side, CO2 laser operation, epithelial dysplasia, moderate (please see descirption).GROSS DESCRIPTION: The specimen received consists of one piece of mucosal tissue measuring 1 cm in greatest dimension. All for section. Note 1: Basement membrane and subepithelial stroma: present for microscopic evaluation. Note 2: Microscopically, it shows hyperparakeratosis, acanthosis and moderate epithelial dysplasia that is highlighted by the immunostaining profiles of cytokeratin 13, cytokeratin 17 and ki-67. There is a marked chronic inflammatory cell infiltrate in the subepithelial region. Notably, the histopathological features of a portion of the epithelial cells cannot be evaluated due to severe cauterization effect. Please correlate the pathological features with the clinical settings.
