請問I am sure the college you attended when you were a boy couldn't have been so nice中college跟you為什麼可以放在一起,還有attended和could not have會否形成一句中雙動詞?

I am sure (that) the college (that) you attended ..... = I am sure + [complement]. 1. "that the college .... so nice" is a noun clause acting as complement of adjective "sure" to complete its meaning. (what is sure?) 2. "that you attended when you were a boy" is a restrictive relative clause modifying the antecedent "the college". (which college?) - You attended a college when you were a boy. [fact] - That college couldn't have been so nice. [a thinking] - I am sure about that! [stress of my thinking]

🔷 I am sure { (that) the college [ (that) you attended <when you were a boy> ] couldn't have been so nice }. 註:括號 (**)、<**>、[**] 表這些括號內的字可以省略,或以省略不省略的句子解讀分析其文法。
