紀念一下第一堂Ultrasound研究讀paper問的問題ㄅ Gick (2002) 1. According to the article, it is claimed that “any coronal or transverse section of the tongue may be imaged by turning the transducer 90 degrees.” I’ve seen the coronal section as shown in M-mode, as well as the midsagittal section as shown in B-mode, but how exactly can we get the transverse section image of tongue? 2. From my own previous experience, it seems to me that stabilizers are more preferred than the laser pointers. Is it true that the if the stabilizers are not that required if the experiment doesn’t involve angle change? Stone (2005) Why does increasing the beam frequency allow more accurate resolution of smaller objects? (According to the text, “higher frequency sound waves can resolve smaller objects because the size and location of an object is accurate to the size of one wavelength.” → I don’t quite get it.) Honda (2015) I don’t quite get the idea (on page 61) that “tongue body movement during speech tends to be more rapid and distant for the microlingual cases than for the macrolingual ones.” How and why? Hiiemae & Palmer (2003) (There’s a typo in the abstract: “hypoglossal” → “hypoglossal”) Different methods of data acquisition have their own pros and cons as mentioned in the text. I wonder if we can apply EMA and ultrasound simultaneously so that we can record clear jaw movement in 3D and the tongue movement at the same time.
